On Saturday in The Bronx, Story delivered the kind of performance that has him pushing into the American League Comeback Player of the Year conversation.
His two-run double in the third cracked open the game, and two innings later he crushed his 20th home run of the year , an opposite-field drive off Will Warren, as reported by Chris Cotillo of MassLive. By day’s end he was 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in a 12-1 rout of the Yankees.
The breakout effort added more shine to what has already become a defining year for Story.
After appearing in only 26 games in 2024 due to a dislocated shoulder, he has rebounded with both power and speed.
