A Rogers psychiatrist and former Arkansas State Medical Board member who is facing felony charges and more than 150 civil lawsuits has been involuntarily committed for mental health treatment, according to court documents.

Dr. Brian Hyatt was arrested in Rogers on Oct. 9, 2023, on a warrant related to Medicaid fraud accusations. He then appeared in Pulaski County District Court on Oct. 19, 2023, at which time he surrendered his passport and signed an extradition waiver before being released on a $15,000 bond.

Hyatt, 52, had been the medical director at Northwest Medical Center's Behavioral Health Unit in Springdale since January 2018. His contract with the medical center was "abruptly terminated" in May 2022, the affidavit in support of the Pulaski County arrest states.
