A mill and overlay project on U.S. 400 will begin this week affecting portions of the highway east of Leon stretching to Beaumont.
The Kansas Department of Transportation, (KDOT), said they will begin the during the week of August 18, conditions permitting. The project will improve the driving surface after culvert work was completed earlier this summer.
During the job, traffic will be directed through the area with flaggers and a pilot car. Drivers should be prepared to slow down and stop with delays expected up to 15 minutes.
APAC-Kansas out of Hutchinson was contracted for the project which totals $3 million.
