ALICEVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A man in Pickens County is accused of assaulting a pregnant woman and holding her against her will in the woods for six hours, according to court records.

Terrence Armstrong, 34, is charged with second-degree kidnapping and domestic violence and second-degree assault.

He is accused of beating the victim, who was 37-weeks pregnant at the time of the incident, and holding her down when she tried to leave, according to court records.

A criminal complaint said Armstrong “watched the police go by looking for him several times” from the woods where he held the victim from midnight to 6 a.m.

His bond is set at $150,000.
