HALE COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is planning a road construction project in Hale County, but first they want to hear from residents of the county.

ALDOT is hosting a public meeting at Greensboro City Hall. The topic is the potential resurfacing starting on State Road 14 - west of Holbrooke Road to State Road 61.

The work will also include what ALDOT leaders call a road ‘diet’ along a portion of that route. The idea behind it all is to make traffic flow a little smoother.

“So essentially with the road diet, we’re reconfiguring the roadway to three lanes so you’ll have three traffic lanes in each direction and a single left turn lane in the middle,” said west Alabama ALDOT spokesman John McWilliams.
