BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Concerned parents are speaking out after more than a dozen fights broke out during the Parker vs. Ramsay football game at Legion Field, an event meant to celebrate non-violence.

Birmingham Police says they are working with Birmingham City Schools to determine whether parents should be required to attend games with their children.

Lawrence Broom, a Parker High School alumnus, said his 10-year-old daughter was at the game with her mother. He saw reports of the violence while out to dinner and immediately feared for her safety.

“I was at dinner last night when I saw on the internet that there were fights breaking out at the Parker game. By me having a 10-year-old daughter, my heart dropped and I found space to give her a call to see if she was fine and she was
