The Manitoba Wildfire Service says most of the province is facing a low fire danger, with moderate conditions in the central and eastern regions.
Evacuees from Kistiganwacheeng (Garden Hill Anisininew Nation) began returning home on August 12, followed by Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (Nelson House) on August 13. The primary evacuation reception centre in Winnipeg has now moved to the Holiday Inn at 1740 Ellice Avenue. It is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., where evacuees can register with the Canadian Red Cross and access support. The previous centre at the RBC Convention Centre is closed.
