POINSETT COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - A judge sentenced a Harrisburg man to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempting to shoot and kill a Poinsett County judge.

On Friday, Aug. 15, 36-year-old Christopher Ford entered a negotiated plea of guilty to criminal attempt to commit capital murder.

Second Judicial Circuit Judge Pam Honeycutt sentenced him to 120 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with 352 days of jail time credit.

Ford also pleaded guilty to committing a terroristic act and received 240 months of suspended imposition of sentence.

Additional charges of manufacture of a Schedule VI controlled substance (greater than 14 grams but less than four ounces), first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree forgery, and animal cruelty were nolle prossed.
