ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - One coastal county has announced beach access closures ahead of Hurricane Erin’s anticipated impacts on Eastern Carolina.

Onslow County says all county-operated beach access points in North Topsail Beach will close starting Tuesday.

Dangerous rip currents and large waves are expected all along our coast as Hurricane Erin continues on its path.

Red flags were flying at a number of Eastern Carolina beaches Monday.

Officials say areas will reopen as conditions allow.

Onslow County Emergency Management will continue monitoring Erin and sharing updates on any impacts from the storm.
