AKRON, Ohio — Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced the conviction of Kimberly Richmond, the 53-year-old Akron babysitter accused of burning a 1-year-old girl she was caring for earlier this year.

On Monday, Richmond pleaded no contest to one count of endangering children, a third-degree felony. She will be sentenced on Oct. 6 in Summit County Common Pleas Court.

“To cause such harm and pain to an innocent child, then fail to get that child medical attention, is despicable,” said Kolkovich in a statement. “This child’s life has been altered forever. I hope this conviction can help her and her family continue pushing forward in the healing process.”
