AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A babysitter has been convicted after a 1-year-old in her care suffered third-degree burns earlier this year, the Summit County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.
Kimberly Richmond, 52, of Akron, pleaded no contest to an indictment, which was a third-degree felony, one count of endangering children.
Back on April 26, police said they were called to a residence on the 1100 block of Lakeshore Boulevard for reports of an emergency.
Upon arrival, a mother told police she had left her 1-year-old daughter in the care of Richmond for a few days. When she came back to town and picked up her daughter, she saw the toddler had been severely burned. Richmond told the mother they were accidental burns from a shower.
