CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Swansboro man could face almost nine years in prison after being sentenced in a death by distribution case.
The Carteret County District Attorney’s Office says William Perkins was sentenced to serve between 6.42 to 8.75 years in prison after he pled guilty to death by distribution.
He was charged after the overdose death of Joshua Adams on January 22, 2023.
The D.A.’s Office says Perkins admitted to law enforcement that he sold Adams fentanyl and meth hours before his death.
Adams’s death was confirmed to be due to fentanyl toxicity.
