NIANTIC, Conn. (WFSB) - There is a new resource to help with flooding issues on parts of the shoreline.

MyCoast is a free app where people take photos of flooding when it happens.

The app is being piloted thanks to a grant in Stonington, Groton, and New London.

MyCoast is available now for anyone in the towns to use.

When flooding occurs, people can submit photos on the app. Town leaders can see these photos and be able to locate which parts of town have the most issues, helping with long-term planning.

Allen Fee has struggled with flooding at his Mystic bait shop more than once.

He thinks the app is a good idea.
