MANSFIELD, La. -- A traffic stop early Sunday morning on Interstate 49 led to the discovery of a possible multi-state identity theft ring. Brandon Sanchez Brinson, 36, of Orland, Fla., was booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center with the complete list of charges pending. Brinson was stopped around 2 a.m. north of the Highway 175 exit. His car had been reported stolen out of Texas. K-9 Cpl. Kelby Pearah and K-9 Karen and other deputies in the area arrested Brinson without incident. Their search of his car revealed a much broader identity theft investigation which remains ongoing. It became apparent, the sheriff's office said, that Brinson was likely involved in a high-tech identify theft string of crimes which spanned across multiple states. Deputies found mult
