PARMA, Mich. (WILX) - Parma Western football has built itself into a regular in the playoffs, with the Panthers aiming to make their ninth straight trip to the state finals.

After Nick Rulewicz announced his retirement following the conclusion of last season, the Panthers are now turning to first-year head coach Cody Bentley to lead them back to the playoffs.

“My big thing that I always talk about is egoless football and having a team of young men who are striving towards the same goal,” said Bentley.

Bentley is a recent cancer survivor and is aiming to help the Panthers create a new identity of toughness in 2025.

“Our big focus is how we can develop our own brand,” said Bentley.

The Panthers will open their season on Aug. 28 against Jackson.
