The White House and the D.C. Police Union say crime has gone down amid the D.C. police takeover. D.C. police have not released any numbers yet, but some local elected officials in neighborhoods struggling with crime say they’re not seeing improvement.

At around 4 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Junior Avenue Southeast. He was able to walk to a nearby hospital to seek help for his injuries.
