COLUMBUS, Ohio — A crash involving two semitrucks has shut down all lanes on Interstate 70 on the west side for several hours Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at I-70 at I-270 around 7:10 a.m., according to a Columbus public safety dispatcher.
A spokesperson with the Columbus Division of Fire said the trucks collided on I-70 East. One of the trucks was carrying traditional car batteries, and some of them began leaking. Diesel fuel from the trucks also began to spill.
One person was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for injuries, according to the dispatcher.
All lanes were closed on I-70 East from state Route 29 in West Jefferson to I-270 for more than five hours. The lanes reopened around 12:30 p.m.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Depa
