COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus father was given a $2 million bond as he is charged with murder in the death of his 3-year-old son.

Daniel Neal, 30, appeared in Franklin County Municipal Court Tuesday morning for his arraignment. His court appearance comes a day after he was arrested.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 100 block of Buckeye Circle, located south of London Groveport Road, on Monday morning after receiving a complaint.

Police arrived and found a 3-year-old boy dead. Court documents state that the child was “fatally injured by physical force.”

Neal was questioned by detectives and, according to court documents, admitted to assaulting the child.
