Loud, wild parties could cost you a thousand dollars — or more.

A Tempe ordinance updated by the City Council in May has raised the fines for parties that cause a nuisance. The updates more than doubled the fine for three or more violations.

And now, the responsibility isn't just on the partiers. The ordinance also put a financial and legal obligation on the renters, homeowners and commercial property owners when a property becomes a chronic offender for wild parties or other public disturbances.
