The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Coconino County starting at 1:54 p.m. Aug. 23. The warning expires at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 23.
The warning was issued for the Pipeline Fire scar west of U.S. 89.
At 1:54 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Pipeline Fire scar west of U.S. 89. Between 0.5 and .85 inch of rain fell within 15 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.25 inches were possible in the warned area. Life-threatening flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly for areas in and around the Pipeline Fire scar west of U.S. 89.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Schultz Pass, Pine Mountain Estates, Timberline, Hutchison Acres, Fernwood, Doney Park and Kachina Peaks Wilderness.
