SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Malcolm Williams, son of State Representative Al Williams and former Midway city councilman announced Monday he's running for mayor of the City of Midway.

Williams announced his candidacy on a Facebook post:

"I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, and the citizens of Midway for their unwavering support during my tenure as City Councilman. I was thrilled to have my dad, State Rep Al Williams, and my Aunt Sylvia Williams join me today to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Midway, Georgia, and I'm committed to working tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of our community."
