JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WAVE) - The attorney for the man accused of murdering and decapitating a man in Jeffersonville on Friday, has filed multiple motions including a motion to file an insanity defense.
Bryce Winnecke is expected to be in court Tuesday afternoon. His hearing was postponed Monday due to a medical issue.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim’s ex-wife and the suspect’s mother called police Friday morning to request the welfare check because she had not been able to contact her ex-husband and believed her son might have hurt him. Before officers could get to the house on Summerlin Place, the victim’s ex-wife and her other son had found the body in the master bedroom.
