LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools have cancelled all their outdoor activities on Tuesday ahead of sweltering temperatures in the forecast.

All outdoor activities, including sports, are cancelled, according to a JCPS spokesperson.

The district cited "extreme heat" as the reason for the cancellations.

Air conditioned gyms and indoor areas may be used for activities instead of outdoors, JCPS officials said.

The Louisville area is under a heat advisory on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s and the "feels like" temperature expected to hit the triple digits at times.
