LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A family is accusing a Kentucky State Police (KSP) trooper of neglecting their duties ahead of the crash that killed 10-year-old Jake Luxemburger in September 2023.

In an amended lawsuit filed on Aug. 14, the Luxemburger family accused Trooper Zachary Napier of trying to pull over an unknown motorist to avoid being sent to a missing child complaint, which would have caused them to miss a friend's wedding.

The family also accused a KSP safety telecommunications manager, Jonathan Johnson, of giving Napier the idea to pull over a driver so they wouldn't have to respond to the missing child complaint, according to the lawsuit.
