WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A Kansas sheriff and detective received minor injuries during a domestic violence call on Monday.
According to the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 7:23 p.m. to the 36000 block of Kansas Highway 99 near Wamego for reports of an active domestic violence incident.
When deputies attempted to arrest the suspect, a 23-year-old woman, she allegedly struck and kicked officers while resisting arrest. She also tried to grab the sheriff's taser but was unsuccessful.
The suspect was taken to the Wabaunsee County Jail. She was booked on suspicion of domestic battery, two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
