Huntsville police have released the name of a man who died Monday following a shooting.

According to Sgt. Chris Jackson, the incident happened in the 4400 block of Torrance Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in progress. They arrived to find a man, later identified as Shaquon Lashay Moore, 30, of Huntsville, in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers also discovered a nearby apartment that had been struck by gunfire during the incident. No one inside was injured.

Investigators from our Major Crimes Unit said that early evidence indicates that the shooting was an isolated incident.
