Nathalie Rose Jones, a 50-year-old from Lafayette, was arrested on Saturday in the District of Columbia for allegedly making threats against President Trump on social media, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

Jones faces charges of threatening to harm the President and transmitting threats across state lines. The U.S. Secret Service, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, acted swiftly to address the threats, Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool said.

From August 2 to August 9, the U.S. Secret Service observed threatening posts from the Instagram account “nath.jones,” where Jones allegedly called for President Trump's removal and labeled him a terrorist. Similar threats were posted on Facebook between August 6 and August 15.
