MUNISING — The Alger County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a Munising woman last seen late Friday evening.

Deputies said they were notified around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 after family members reported 65-year-old Starla Goings missing. She was last seen at her home in Munising Township.

Goings is described as a white woman, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with short white hair and brown eyes. Authorities said it is unclear whether she had a destination in mind, how she may be traveling, or the circumstances of her disappearance.

Her vehicle was found a short distance from her residence on Peninsula Point Road after she was reported missing.
