Five people arrested in Emporia for involvement in a drug smuggling operation have another delay in the court process. In early May, six individuals were each charged with one count of possession with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, following an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Charges against one person were dropped. The following five individuals are still facing trial.

Omar Villa Carranza, 45, a Mexican national unlawfully residing in Emporia.

Tiburcio Ayala Rangel, 42, a Mexican national unlawfully residing in Emporia.

Troy Wagaman, 42, of Emporia.

Jesus Cruz Rodriguez, 28, of Emporia.

Moises Cervantes Sanchez, 67, of McAllen, Texas.
