DES PLAINES, Ill. (WLS) -- An Illinois state trooper facing child pornography charges will stay behind bars until his trial.

A judge ordered Colin Gruenke, 38, detained at a court hearing Monday, saying in court documents "there is no condition or combination of conditions that would reasonably assure the safety of the community."

Gruenke is accused of distributing and possessing child pornography.

He was arrested last week while on duty at the state police headquarters in Des Plaines.

Court documents said Gruenke was once a referee for a junior hockey league, as well.

State police said Gruenke is on administrative leave without pay.

ISP is conducting an internal investigation.
