Dementia-friendly music sessions are returning to the Lacombe Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) this Fall.

The program was built under the Alberta Health Services (AHS) initiative "Connecting People and Community for Living Well" as part of supporting an inclusive community for people suffering from dementia.

The LPAC board and staff took training to become a dementia-friendly facility, Executive Director Rosanne Kerekes said.

"We worked closely with an AHS staff member to build the platform of our program. It started in 2022, and we run two sessions a year, one in the fall and one in the spring."

Participants in the program will get to do sing-alongs, rhythm activities, music bingo, painting with music, and more.
