Emmerdale viewers were left stunned as it appeared that murderer John Sugden, played by Oliver Farnworth, might have a secret partner in crime following the demise of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) .

In the latest episode of the ITV soap (August 19) , the police continued their probe after confirming that Owen Michaels' suicide note, confessing to Nate's murder, had been preserved posthumously.

Liam Cavanagh, portrayed by Jonny McPherson, was questioned by detectives about Owen's final movements, while John listened anxiously. Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) was heartbroken upon realising that her husband's killer might still be at large, and sought comfort from Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
