SEATAC, Wash. — Biometric verification is coming to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport's CLEAR lanes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup .
The "eGates" are designed to perform real-time verification by matching the traveler's face to identifying documents, according to the company. The CLEAR lanes are membership-based and used as an alternative to traditional airport security.
CLEAR has lanes at Checkpoints 1 and 5 at the airport. People who use the gates will have their identity confirmed - bypassing the TSA podium - and proceed to the physical screening.
