HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — A family of three in Henderson County are looking to start fresh after they faced historical flooding in April that left their home unrecoverable.
A home filled with memories has been reduced to rubble. Owner Shane Driskell is the Assistant Fire Chief at Basket Fire Department who says he understands how flooding can get in the area but had no idea it would get this bad for his family.
"I wish we didn't have to deal with the flooding and stuff out here but it's the nature of the beast in the area," Driskell said.
Instead of repairs, Driskell and his family have decided to tear down the Peters Road home they've owned since 2020 to purchase a modular home to be built in its place.
