Mechanicville’s Scott Lynch and Saratoga Central Catholic’s Hunter Fales were named Player of the Year for their respective classes when the New York State Sportswriters Association all-state baseball team was released last week.
Lynch, a graduated senior shortstop/third baseman who will attend Siena, was named the top player in Class B, and Fales, a graduated senior catcher for the state-champion Saints who will attend St. John Fisher, was named the top player in Class C. Fales hit .452 this past season.
