Phoenix Director of Water Services Troy Hayes is retiring and will be immediately replaced by Brandy Kelso, the city announced in a news release on Friday.
Both Hayes’ retirement and Kelso’s transition to the water services director role took effect on Friday, the same day of the announcement.
Kelso has served as assistant water services director and was most recently interim director of the Street Transportation Department.
The city’s news release called Hayes respected national voice in water utility leadership who leaves behind a legacy defined by innovation, resilience and a deep commitment to public service.
