FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup on Tuesday afternoon in Fuquay-Varina.

It happened just before 4 p.m. in the 400 block of Coley Farm Road. The road was closed while the investigation unfolded and was expected to remain closed for several hours.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.

A pickup with front-end damage remained at the scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area, Fuquay-Varina Police said.
