APEX, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Apex Police Department is looking for a man wanted for several sex offenses.

The suspect ran away from police on Monday near Lufkin Road and East Williams, leading to a significant law enforcement response, including drones and K-9 units. The active search was later called off after authorities were unable to find him.

He is believed to be in a wooded area. Police have a perimeter around the area, and there is no known risk to the public at this time.

The man, described as Hispanic and 5 feet tall, was last seen wearing a ball cap and a neon yellow, long-sleeve shirt. If you see the suspect, call 911 immediately.
