ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Ann police arrested a north St. Louis County man on Saturday after a 911 caller reported seeing two children sitting in a parked car in the Aldi parking lot.
The man, who police are not yet identifying, was seen on surveillance video inside the store for approximately five minutes, before returning to his car in the parking lot. By then, a fellow customer had called 911 and police had arrived.
The maximum heat index on Saturday was 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
According to police, the man told officers he took the keys with him because his seven-year-old son is autistic and he didn’t want to risk leaving the keys in the ignition.
“That’s understandable, but at the same point, where do you draw the line with what’s wrong an
