A Monroeville man was arrested after he allegedly shot two people in a daytime incident in Downtown Pittsburgh that sent nearby pedestrians scrambling for safety.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Jaraye McLaughlin is facing charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

The shooting took place on Aug. 1 about 4:30 p.m. near the corner of Ninth Street and Penn Avenue.

A man was struck in the arm and leg and a woman who was struck in her lower leg. Police said both victims were in stable condition after the shooting.

On Aug. 3, Pittsburgh police released photos of a person of interest in the shooting.
