A teenage boy was critically injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The teen, 17, was walking on the sidewalk at the 1600 block of North Washtenaw Avenue when he was shot in the left shoulder by an unknown assailant around 5:10 p.m., according to Chicago police. The teen was transported to St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in critical condition.

There were no arrests Tuesday evening as Grand Central Area detectives investigated, police said.
