PERRY COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - The Du Quoin State Fair is just days away , and preparations are in full swing.

The fair’s manager, Luke Davison, said this is going to be the biggest Du Quoin State Fair ever.

In 2024, the fair saw record-breaking attendance, and Davison said that is the goal again this year.

“We have our goals set very, very high for a well-attended fair. That’s the grandstands, the rides, the races. It all contributes to that.”

Rides and vendors were rolling in steadily all morning long on Tuesday.

While preparations were made on the grounds, there is one thing everyone can agree on--it is hot.

With this extreme heat and posted heat advisories , staff members were having to be extra cautious not to overdo it.
