VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — As of Tuesday, the projected path of Hurricane Erin showed it just cruising well offshore past Virginia Beach, as Sandbridge area residents told 10 On Your Side they are really not that concerned about the storm. Those visiting the area on vacation, however, said the rain may make them adjust their plans a little. The mighty waves of Erin are gradually getting larger crashing against the shoreline, populated by visitors and locals.
Geographically speaking, the Outer Banks strand begins in Virginia with the 4.5 mile-long Sandbridge Beach. Known for its lush beaches and laid back vibes, those here are fitting said vibe. We spoke with a beach goer who is from the area and is very used to these storms.
