CONNECTICUT, USA — Stop & Shop is closing two Connecticut facilities, designated for "e-commerce or online order fulfillment," this fall, according to spokesperson Stephanie Cunha.
The two warerooms in Windsor and Norwalk employ 150 people. The company will offer the impacted employees other career opportunities with Stop & Shop, Cunha said.
The company will continue fulfilling home delivery orders out of the warerooms until their closing at a date that they have not announced yet.
Connecticut customers will be able to continue shopping online for pickup or home delivery after the facilities close.
Following the facilities' closure, Cunha said items will be picked from the stores instead, allowing customers a "broader assortment of products to choose from - and faster deliver times."
