ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Clayton County police officer shot and killed a dog “that was acting aggressively toward a juvenile” last week, according to the police department.
Around 7:17 p.m. Thursday, officers “responded to an incident” around the 600 block of Millstone Drive in Jonesboro.
During the incident, one of the officers fatally shot a dog because it was “acting aggressively toward a juvenile,” police said.
The officer fired after “multiple non-lethal attempts were made to deter the animal.”
Police said there were no injuries to the juvenile or the officer.
They said the shooting remains under review in accordance with department policy.
“No further information is available at this time,” Clayton County police said. “This incident remains under active investigati
