SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Rosie LaBarge started her pro equestrian career more than three years ago, after riding horses her entire life.
She brought three different horses to the New York State Fairgrounds for the USEF Hunter/Jumping competition set to place at 8 a.m. on the first day of the Fair, Wednesday, August 20.
She and her horses warmed up Tuesday night to prepare for the intense event.
"This is a hunter jumper show," LaBarge said. "Hunters are very elegant, very steady and pretty, and jumpers are based on height and time."
LaBarge enjoys traveling to various events, as she loves the thrill of competing.
"I'm a little bit of an adrenaline junkie," LaBarge said.
Her mother, Chris LaBarge, doubles as her daughter's trainer, with about 37 years of experience in horse training
