TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Tucson business owners are starting to see the effects of the Trump Administration’s international tariffs.
Pamilihan Pinoy Asian Grocery has food items from across southeast Asia, but most of their imports come from the Philippines. The owners said it’s been a bit more expensive for them to keep their shelves stocked.
“When we opened this store, I wanted something that people can afford,” said Owner Rica Pijuan. “You can still eat the food that you loved to eat when you were younger, but you can still afford to buy it.”
Pijuan built her business on providing her Filipino customers with a taste of home without breaking the bank. However, with rising tariffs on imported goods, it’s getting harder for her to keep prices low.
