LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - The Longmeadow School Committee held a meeting Tuesday night to address the arrest of middle school librarian Scott McGlinley on child pornography charges and outline the district's response.

The Longmeadow School Committee held a meeting to discuss the next steps forward after the arrest of the middle school librarian, with parents also in attendance, and asked if warning signs were missed.

Superintendent Martin O'Shea announced plans to hire an independent firm to investigate the situation, aiming to ensure that no warning signs were overlooked. The investigation is set to begin promptly as the school year approaches.

O'Shea stated, "It's important that kids have a sense of safety, a sense of security, and we will continue to remind them of that."
