PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) - Palmyra Parks and Recreation want to make sure the community is aware after several badger sightings have been reported at Flower City Park.
It was most recently seen near the pickleball courts and playground area.
Palmyra Director of Parks and Recreation Doug Meyers said badgers are not common for this area.
They’re most frequently found in the western and central U.S., favoring open fields, prairies, and areas with loose soil for digging extensive burrows.

He believes it has moved out of the area, but said he has contacted the Missouri Department of Conservation about the sightings.
He said do not approach a badger if you see one.
