CADDO PARISH, La. — A Caddo Parish grand jury has indicted a man on murder charges in the stabbing death of his mother.

The grand jury returned two true bills Tuesday against Connor Lyons, 19.

Lyons is charged with second-degree murder in the May 23 stabbing death of his mother, Lara Lyons, 55. Authorities say the crime happened as she slept in her home in the 6000 block of Double A-Drive in Blanchard.

A second indictment charges Lyons with battery of a police officer and resisting an officer.

Lyons was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on May 23 with a bond set at $2 million. He remains in custody.
